# PageDrop > PageDrop is a free, open-source (GPL-3.0) Android app that sends books from your phone to an old, jailbroken Kindle running KOReader, over Wi-Fi, with no cable, no computer and no Calibre. It was built for the Kindles that lost Kindle Store access on May 20, 2026. PageDrop is a phone-first companion for jailbroken Kindles running KOReader. You find a book on your phone, PageDrop converts it if needed, fixes its title, author and cover, and sends it to the Kindle through KOReader's built-in SSH server. Nothing extra is installed on the Kindle. Background: on May 20, 2026 Amazon stopped Kindle Store access (buying, borrowing, downloading) on every Kindle and Fire tablet released in 2012 or earlier: Kindle 1 and 2, Kindle DX, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle 4 and 5, Kindle Touch and the first Kindle Paperwhite. Books already on those devices still work and sideloading still works. Many owners jailbreak them and install KOReader; PageDrop is the phone app for getting books onto them afterwards. ## What it does - Search Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, the Internet Archive, Wikisource and your own OPDS catalogs from the phone - Save books from websites in its built-in browser - Convert EPUB, PDF (text PDFs, with reflow) and text to Kindle formats on the phone; an optional, self-hostable conversion server handles harder files after asking the user first (files deleted after about 24 hours, one switch keeps everything on the phone) - Fill in title, author and cover from the file and open catalogs (Open Library; Google Books optional) - Show, delete and copy back the books on the Kindle - A "Get your Kindle ready" checklist that links to the Kindle Modding Wiki's jailbreak guides - Key-based SSH login with pinned host keys; no account, no analytics, no ads ## Requirements - Android 8.0 or newer - A jailbroken Kindle running KOReader, with KOReader's SSH server switched on, on the same Wi-Fi as the phone - Tested on a 2012 Kindle Paperwhite (firmware 5.6.1.1); other jailbroken Kindles running KOReader should work ## Get it - [F-Droid](https://f-droid.org/packages/app.pagedrop/): built from source and signed by F-Droid - [GitHub releases](https://github.com/spandan-kumar/PageDrop/releases/latest): signed APK, also installable and updatable with Obtainium - [Source code](https://github.com/spandan-kumar/PageDrop) (GPL-3.0) - [Discord](https://discord.gg/cfsqhuHVfb) for setup help ## Guides - [My Kindle can't reach the store anymore.
